A EURASIAN SPOONBILL remains present on the Sea Pool between Cley and Salthouse (North Norfolk) for its third day, with 8 in Poole Harbour ( Dorset ) and 5 in North Devon at Isley Marsh.
Every Waxwing invasion is different, but early movements seemed fairly normal with some rapid movements from Orkney to Aberdeen, an Orkney bird in Norwich within a couple of weeks of ringing and several Aberdeen birds well south within a few weeks: ... I spent an excellent day yesterday at Portland Bird Observatory and Radipole Lake RSPB Reserve with old friend from way back Richard Crossley, ex-pat Brit, Cape May resident and co-author of the The Shorebird Guide and now well on his way to finishing what could be North America's best ID guide (more of all of that later etc). ... banded mediterranean gull
