Swan and Water Birds in general are flightless through July therefore this is the time for a Round Up to take place.
Care is always taken to keep families seperated and undisturbed.

Along with the intense activity of catching and ringing, here is always a chance to relax and take pleasure in the summer sunshine.

When all the Swans have been caught each one is wrapped in a Bewick jacket. This enables the Swan to be contained safely prior to ringing and sexing. The jacket is removed at the point of release.
